Building A Project Studio

Getting Started

For the past three years I've been planning the perfect Pro-Studio-Build purposed towards private sessions/lessons. To be perfectly honest I have no experience, no budget and no doubt that I'm going to need an extra set of hands for this project. However I was fortunate enough to recently draw up some plans. So what did I do? Well first thing was to determine the location, take some measurements and draw up those plans. Which in my case was easier than expected, more on that later. Because I have no experience building a pro studio I thought it would be a good time to search out people who has had success. How do you do that without hawking someone down and potentially wasting your time and their time? Books! Yes that's right, someone out there has already invested the time spent towards helping people like us music enthusiast. So the next thing I did was searched out Amazon bookstore and visited the local library for books on this topic. The first book I could get my hands on is one by Rod Gervais titled "Home Recording Studio: Build It Like the Pros" I will give an update, list other great books as well as information on this project in the up-in-coming days.
